A holiday in Puglia with its excellent climate, wonderful landscapes, passionate people, magnificent cooking and unsurpassable culture is always a suggestive experience. Our proposal is to make it warm and comfortable. Imagine a sober, elegant building of the XIX century, situated on the hills of Gargano. Imagine around it olive-groves, the characteristic fragrance that only this very land can have. This is Villa Basso, for the traveller who appreciates fine taste, a real historical character and a home away from home. Surrounded by many points of interest, such as the Archangel Michael Basilica in Monte Sant'Angelo , a medieval , quiet, picturesque village ,the Umbra Forest, the white high cliffs of the coast nearby, set on the edge of Adriatic Sea, the house makes a perfect base from which to explore the area. It is very nicely suited to simply relaxing in a quiet place, on a hillside overlooking the sea, although the beaches (both rock and sand) are not far from here and there are hill towns and a plenty to discover in the valley and nearby mountains. Built in 1878 to be the summer dwelling of a noble and cultured family from this area, Villa Basso, nowadays, has been carefully renovated by the new owners who really love this place. In 1964 the villa has been chosen to be the set of the English film “ The high bright sun” with Dirk Bogarde and Puglia standing in for the movie's setting of Cyprus. The property for rent sleeps up to 6 in two tastefully furnished , self-catered and fully equipped apartments, "LA TERRAZZA" ( up to 4) "PANORAMIC SUITE" ( for 2) , each of them enjoying its terrace and sea view.
