"Truly this is the ideal “cottage by the sea.” We arrived late on Saturday when it was dark. We all were tired and went right to sleep. Our introduction to Maine was this breathtaking view. Each morning we spent time, drinking coffee and taking in the awesome coast. As true to our tourist nature, we traveled from Campobello to Bass Harbor, taking in the local sites one afternoon at a time. Despite the travel, we still took time in the morning to enjoy the cottage. Some of the more memorable local sites: watching harbor seals along the coast at Great Wass Island Nature Conservancy, discovering the unique sound of the ocean waves on pebbles at Jasper Beach; being entertained by the Machias historical society at Barnham Tavern; eating fresh caught lobster and mussels; and of course blueberries, blueberries, blueberries! We had a wonderful week and a true Maine experience. Thanks!"
