2 bed, 2 bath Castilléjar guest house sleeps 4

Twin En-suite Room
Double En-suite Room
A family run cave guest house in rural Andalucia. Offering B&B, half board and room only options. In a quite village called Castillejar you will find this area is very much the 'real Spain'

Cueva Pedro opened as Bed and Breakfast accommodation in 2005. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, mainly from word of mouth.

Many guests have returned to stay several times and other guests who have bought property locally and no longer need accommodation have become very close friends (some of whom still book for private meals in the cave dining room).

Over the past 6 years Cueva Pedro has seen many changes. Sadly 'Nan' (as she was known to everyone) passed away in Oct. 2007. However with the sad times there have been so many happy times; Kate and Ramon, who met during the cave being reformed in 2005, were married in April, 2007 and in Nov. 2009 they had a beautiful baby boy, Alejandro - who now supplies plenty of entertainment for guests!

Unfortunately Mike is still having to work in UK but he still manages to get plenty of work done when he is over for one of his 'breaks' and the cave has grown over the years and now boasts a roof terrace, barbecue, patio area, shady pergola, roof terrace, private splash pool, Bullys Bar (a room under the roof terrace with honesty bar, fridge, English TV, dvd's, cd's, playstation 2 and games).

Cueva Pedro is neatly tucked away high up in a quiet part of Castillejar, with a wonderful view over the village. However, it is less than a 10 minute walk to the many shops, bars and other amenities.

With many people remarking on the peaceful and spiritual vibe of Cueva Pedro, an idea to start hosting a monthly Indulgence and Holistic Therapy day was born. On the first Monday of each month, guests and clients can immerse themselves in heavenly treatments by our 3 fully qualified therapists! These days are extremely popular with appointments usually booked up well in advance. Sally's cream teas, homemade toasted teacakes, cakes and other refreshments are just as popular as the therapies on these days, with many people popping along just for a cuppa and a bite to eat and a chat!

When Ami came to join the team in Oct, 2010 she brought a fresh input to the future progress of Cueva Pedro. She set up a 'deli' making pasties, quiches, pies, pizzas and other goodies for local expats who were missing a 'taste of home'. Ami has now taken over Kate's role as host now that Kate has her hands full with little Alejandro.

The future is still full of expansion and growth for the business with some exciting merges that include:
◦an arrangement with Mave and Glen, owners of Cueva Ellina Poppy, a cave below and just a 2 minute walk away. With a twin room, bed settee and private bathroom, this enables us to accommodate parties of up to 7 people, with all meals being taken at Cueva Pedro.
◦a new idea of 'split holidays' - a few days at Cueva Pedro and then a few days in the very rural hamlet of Fuente Nueva in beautiful cave accommodation 'Santa Maria' to enable you to experience 2 different holidays in one.
◦with more and more local activities being set up it means that Cueva Pedro is an ideal base for activity holidays 'from the serene to the extreme' (we can pass on details of the activities or arrange them for you before your arrival if you let us know your preferences in advance).

Kate is still offering her famous 'paella cooking demonstrations' or any other traditional Spanish dish (usually with help from her Spanish husband for the other dishes!).

Nowadays Cueva Pedro is more that just a B&B, there is an option to stay half or full board at very competitive prices. Private meals can be booked for groups of 4 - 12 people, even if you aren't staying at Cueva Pedro. You can also enjoy a 3 course traditional Sunday lunch, except in the hottest months, and even indulge in pampering and holistic therapies once a month.

So, there have been many changes since Cueva Pedro opened its doors to the public in 2005! But, some of the important things that haven't changed are our professional service, attention to detail, fabulous home cooked meals, a relaxed 'home from home' atmosphere and our passion and drive to build a successful business.
