"I know I'm late on this comment as procrastination is part of myself. But, Marilyn and Jeff, thank you both again so much for the wonderful hospitality that you both displayed for us in August. The chuparosas/ hummingbirds were a great part of our enjoyment with our stay at the casita. And that rainbow we saw several different days at the end of the valley south of the casita was ssooo cool. How did God put that rainbow in the same place every time?!? The sunsets, well..... , WOW !!! And the sunsets had that 270 degreeness to them. BIG !!! Everything was so close to the casita, yet the peace and quiet of the place made it seem like we were out in the boonies. I got addicted to the bagels and jams and morning chats with the wonderful Marilyn. You're wonderful too Jeff, but your mom has more experience at it. :) My walks down through the arroyos were were so enjoyable. Just a chance to get away and be alone with the Creator. You guys are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. When we got home we were considering not vacationing next year. But, after little thought about it, we'll probably schedule another stay at the wonderful Casita de Chuparosa. "I had so much fun here coming for the first time. I'm definitely coming back! I love Taos especially as well as the Ski Valley. I would love to come back in the winter. "June 20-23 2010 Thank you Jeff & Marilyn, We had an awesome stay at the Casita! We could have gotten out more but simply relaxing was just what the doctor ordered. Ghost Ranch was neat. "10/18-10/25 Marilyn + Jeff- What a wonderful refuge this has been for us! One we we got used to the hum of the refrigerator , the squeak of the floors and the squeaky fence around the back sitting area, we settled in nicely. Our timing couldn't have been better for the extraordinary gold, yellow and orange of the cottonwoods shining in the glorious fall sunlight in the river valley below - until sub 20 weather struck one night and the gold vanished! The view across the valley is superb, especially the sunsets behind our favorite peak-Pedernal. The daily newspaper and weather report each morning was a welcome ritual for our coffee and tea in the sun. and the last couple nights having the wonderful fireplace roaring wand crackling as we drifted off to sleep was a first for us in all of our vacation travels! That does not mean we did not enjoy our stay at the little hummingbird home. We did! Words like amazing, perfect,thoughtful, helpful, tasty, incredible.- all come to mind. You guys thought of absolutely everything..from coolers to keys for the hot springs lockers from weather reports to thermos'; guidebooks, to handcreams, internet access to movies. We have NEVER rented such a thoughtful place to stay EVER. We love your horses, your dogs, the crows on the fence, the jack rabbit in the yard, the hummingbird tree, the cedar bug spray, the environmentally conscious everything. "Mar 22-29, 2008 What a fantastic home! So inviting and comfortable. Beautifully decorated with wonderful, helpful books on the area, people , art, What to see and do. My favorite books were the "From Santa Fe to O'Keeffe Country" We used this book everyday. It really enriched our stay. We also enjoyed the larger books on Georgia O'Keeffe displayed in the bedroom. It gave us much more intimate view of the artist which we wouldn't have had otherwise. All the magazines on the bookshelf had insightful articles about Santa Fe & the area. Thank you for the post-it highlights. We enjoyed browsing through the books about green homes, adobe houses, they are full of informative ideas. And as we are from out of country and never had been here before, the book with all the city maps was very helpful for us to navigate around Santa Fe. I loved the heater in the bathroom, what a brilliant idea! So many teas in the cupboard, What a smorgasbord! So many kitchen utensils, machines, gizmos, plates and cups, better stocked than our own kitchen! I loved the metal water bottles, we used them everyday! (The red one was mine and the silver one Mark's) Satellite T.V., we don't have that, what a treat!. So many movies stocked. We loved "No country for old men" and the Georgia O'Keeffe documentary. Great additions and internet. Mark was able to keep track of his stocks and I wa sable to keep track of the digital photos I had taken this week. We made use of the free long distance, a nice addition and what a spectacular view! Front and back. It was amazing to wake up to such a beautiful landscape. I love the sun in the morning,in the kitchen area. It's a real good morning Hello, an energizing way to start the day!
