Alpenglow Chalet is an 1800 sq ft custom tri-level chalet-style home built in 1998 and newly acquired and remodeled in 2005 as a bed and breakfast/ vacation rental home in Homer, Alaska. New porcelain tile and wood floors are accented throughout the chalet by natural pine beams, ceilings, walls, and trim. The chalet lies near the end of a quiet dead-end road - nestled in a scenic hillside clearing just five minutes above Homer Alaska. In the heart of Homer, enjoy privacy, seclusion, and yet spectacular views of Kachemak Bay, the famous Homer Spit, and the snow-capped mountains and glaciers of the Kenai Peninsula!

Property AmenitiesAlpenglow Chalet comfortably sleeps 6-12 guests on three spacious levels with three queen-sized beds, futon couches, and two baths. It's a very tastefully decorated upscale Alaskan home inclusive of a fully furnished kitchen, living room, spacious family recreation room with TV/DVD/VCR, and washer/dryer. A full size freezer is also conveniently available for fisherman. A continental breakfast with fresh home-baked breads and homemade jams is available! Alpenglow Chalet can be rented 3 different ways: Lower Chalet (1st level) Upper Chalet (2nd & 3rd levels) Entire Chalet (all 3 levels) 1st Level The lower 1 st level has a private back entrance and outside sitting area - glide in the swing while absorbing the great views and wildlife! A queen-size bed, private bath, and spacious family recreation room with a queen size-futon provide ample space for four guests. An additional futon sleeps another two. Amenities include phones, TV/VCR/DVD, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, and small refrigerator. BBQ your catch of the day outside your door! A washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board are also available for your use on this level when renting the entire house. 2nd Level The main entrance to the chalet is on the 2nd level - no steps make it easily accessible to the handicapped. A queen-size bed, phone, TV, private bath, fully furnished kitchen, dining room, and living room with additional sleeping space for two make this an inclusive home all on one level. Dine outside on the wrap-around deck while enjoying BBQ off the gas grill and spectacular views! 3rd Level The charming 3rd level loft overlooks the spacious 2nd level living/dining room with its 20ft vaulted ceiling. Relax in a queen-size bed and sitting area with cozy loveseat, while enjoying some of the best views in the chalet!
Community AmenitiesThe Chalet is surrounded by an expansive acre of lawn bordered by native Sitka roses and a forest of birch and pine trees. Sightings of moose, eagles, bear, and other wildlife abound. Large picture windows and a wrap-around deck offer magnificent views from any level of the vacation home rental. Homer and the surrounding Kenai Peninsula offer tourist activities for all throughout the seasons. Plan to stay awhile and enjoy Homer's famous halibut or salmon fishing, whale watching, bear viewing, sea kayaking, horseback riding, glacier and flightseeing tours. Take a boat trip across Kachemak Bay to the quaint villages of Seldovia or Halibut Cove, or simply stroll the streets of downtown Homer where you will find restaurants, art galleries, the Pratt Museum, and many other Homer attractions. Wildflowers and berries abound for the hikers, and birders flock in droves for Homer's annual spring Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival.
